Founded in 1945 by Lily and Jack Fishman, Fishman's Dry Cleaning began as Economy Cleaners in Inglewood. With a blend of Jack's tailoring expertise and Lily's business acumen, the family overcame challenges to grow the business. Today, under the leadership of Sheldon Fishman, along with his wife, Tasha, Fishman’s operates 14 locations and offers a wide range of services.

Committed to community support, Fishman’s provides complimentary cleaning for job seekers to help boost their confidence during interviews.

Environmentally conscious, the company has eliminated all solvents, introducing Soft Wash X-Treme Care for a superior, eco-friendly cleaning process. Timeline of Fishman's Cleaners

1945

Fishman’s Cleaners is founded by Lily and Jack Fishman in Inglewood, Calgary. Jack, a skilled tailor, and Lily, a savvy businesswoman, work tirelessly to build the business from the ground up.

1970s-1990s

Jack and Lily’s son, Benny Fishman, takes over the business, growing it through the challenges of Calgary’s oil economy. With his leadership and attention to detail, Fishman’s becomes a respected name in the community.

2000-2013

In 2000, the business name changes from Calgary Economy Cleaners to Fishman’s to reflect the family legacy. Benny’s son, Sheldon Fishman, joins the business in 1994, and eventually, Benny passes away in 2013, leaving a lasting impact on Calgary's business scene.

2010s-Present

Sheldon, with his wife Tasha Fishman, leads the company into a new era, expanding to 13 locations and adding services such as linen production, shoe repair, and tailoring. Fishman’s continues to thrive with a commitment to quality, sustainability, and community.
